Dr. Stephen Sawrie received his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and his D.D.S. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, located in Memphis. Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Sawrie served his country in the U.S. Navy, after which he was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Following his military service, Dr. Sawrie returned to complete his orthodontic specialty residency at St. Louis University, graduating with a master of orthodontics. Dr. Sawrie is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, The American Association of Orthodontists and the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists.

Awards
Dr. Sawrie has served as President of the Chattanooga area Dental Society, The Tennessee Dental Association and The Tennessee Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Sawrie is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and is also a fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Sawrie was the 2001 recipient of the "Jack Wells Award for Excellence of Dentistry," which is the highest award bestowed by the Tennessee Dental Association. In 2002, he was awarded “Tennessee Dentist of the Year" by the Tennessee Chapter of the Academy of General Dentistry. This is a singular honor bestowed on very few dentists in Tennessee.

Personal
Dr. Sawrie is a lifetime native of Chattanooga and was educated at the Baylor School. He has been active in his local community through fundraising with the United Way, as well as having served on the Cherokee Area Council for the Boy Scouts of America. He is also a member of the downtown Chattanooga Rotary Club. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, he is active as a deacon. Also, he and his wife, Sue, have three grown children and two grandchildren. His youngest son, Dr. Daniel Sawrie, has now joined him practice, continuing a tradition of 38 years of quality orthodontic care for the Chattanooga community. In his spare time, Dr. Sawrie enjoys traveling, photography, hunting and fly-fishing.


Dr. Daniel Sawrie is a Chattanooga native and attended the Baylor School where he graduated in 1991. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and then attended the University of Tennessee College Of Dentistry where he earned his D.D.S. degree. Dr. Daniel then continued his education at the University of Tennessee where he completed a three year residency program and was awarded a certificate and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Daniel is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Chattanooga Area Dental Society, and the Tennessee Valley Dental Study Club. Dr. Daniel Sawrie is a "Board Certified Orthodontist", recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church where he currently serves as a Deacon. He enjoys spending time with his wife Lucy and daughter Chloe, and his hobbies include photography, golf and fishing.
